Last Minute Golf Fitness

One of the worst things I can do to stop myself getting the results I want is putting stuff off until tomorrow.

There are somethings that I wait until the last minute to put out the fire, it's like I see the flames and shrug my shoulders, I see the smoke and wave my hands to clear it and then look the other way, it's only when the heat from the fire is burning my toes that I actually take the action needed.

This in the past has cost me, time, money and the label of not caring enough, and out of each painful last-minute panic I do learn valuable lessons, just not the lesson of the consequences of leaving everything until the last minute.

That is however unless I have a plan.

If I have a plan I am ruthlessly committed to it.. (As long as I had a hand in building that plan as I hate being told what to do)

It's my MO, my mode of operating. That and the case that there are things I just don't take as seriously as the rest of humanity.

Your consistency and motivation are only governed by how good the plan you have is and a desire to get where you want to go.

Not a deep enough desire and you will put it off.

Not a clear enough "next step action" and you will put it off.

No belief that what you do will get you where you want to go and all the motivation in the world will dry up as soon as you need to stay committed. So what do you do?

1. Decide what you want above all else

2. Take the time to draft an action plan

3. Take action on that plan

4. Assess what needs to change and what needs to stay the same.

Those 4 simple actions alleviate all need for motivation because you do not need to be motivated when you are physically taking action.

Its success is in its simplicity.

Unbreakable Golfers can't tell you what you want, but it will show you exactly how to do all 4, that is if you want to be:

More fit,

More powerful,

Calmer,

And crystal clear on what you need to do to get those results.

The link below will give you more information should you want to not put it off until tomorrow.

Either way, those 4 steps should get you moving unless you want to stay stuck.

Start Being So Childish…

Yesterday My daughter Learned to ride her bike for the first time…

I lifted up the stabilizers so she had to get used to her balance, she did that for a little while, and then she said

take them off,

She struggled a bit and then she sussed it.

Now the thing is, her determination would have outlasted anything that I was saying, anything that anyone else could have said, she was just adamant

“No I’m Gonna Do This”

Every time she fell off. She said something,

Pick the bike up and had another go.

She just kept going.

With everything that's going on right now.

Sometimes we need a childlike attitude.

Just to fall and then

GET UP, FALL, GET UP,  FALL

and just say to yourself “I'm doing this no matter what”,

As adults We're more worried about one little failure, how it looks to others, what it says about us, then to act like a kid and just keep going.

As a kid,

You don't even think about the mistakes because your eyes are on the prize, your eyes are on the target.

My daughter yesterday just wanted to ride the bike with no stabilisers so that was her target.

She wasn't thinking about anything else. And then she did it.

So how could you take a childlike mind and turn that in to a reason to get what you want?

To Just say to yourself, “you know what, this is what I'm doing. And I don't care how many times I fall, I'm just going to carry on”

Think about how many times people have started fitness routines since the lockdown started (this time and the first time).

How they’ve said they were going to take action, how they said they were going to do this and do that and they start something…

they miss, or fall and it falls to pieces.

What if those same people just kept going.

What people struggle with is the commitment side of things, and keeping yourself accountable.

This is why the “function” part of the fairway four system is so crucial

How can we link all of the targets we want outside of golf “TO GOLF”

Just link what you're doing now, where you want to go, the mindset you need and a skill set you need, to golf, and your obsession with golf, and you will get the results.

If the last thing you want to do is exercise.

You're not going to exercise.

However, if the last thing you want to do is exercise, but know that leveraging your mindset is what gets you to do the exercises that make your golf better then,

Game over…

So If it makes you hit the ball further it could means,

you're going to be closer to the hole which means,

you're going to have a wedge instead of a nine iron,

which means you can get closer to the pin,

which means you're more likely to win your match.

Then it brings on a completely different focus.

So where are you right now, acting like an adult when you'd be better off acting like a kid.

If you want to join a bunch of adults who think “stop being so childish” is a compliment and want to improve your body and golf at the same time, click the link below.

Doggy Deadlines

I took the dog for a run Sunday morning.

The fact is now, we have to wear a mask, even if you're running unless you do it before a certain time in the morning. So….

it's a Sunday morning.

And the last thing I wanted to do was go for a run.

However this idea that it had to be done by a certain time Or I would have to potentially wear a mask (if that’s the case, who knows). I won't be able to run that day because let’s face it,

That would be an excuse and human beings when can find an excuse for not taking action very easily

So that deadline motivated me to get my ass in gear.

Get everything I need to get done and get out the door by a certain time, because I wanted to get a run in while getting a long dog work

So, a self-imposed deadline imposed by someone else made me take action.

I had this cut off point of wearing a mask and exercising, not being in place.

I would have put it off till later, And obviously, by putting it off till later. I might not have done it at all.

The best thing that anyone can do if they want to take action is a self-imposed deadline but also backed up by an external immovable deadline.

This will happen if you have to leave at a certain time to get somewhere based on someone else’s timeline (train, taxi, coach, plane) whatever it might be.

You put a self-imposed deadline based on the time you want to leave based on your preferences.

You create your internal action with an external deadline.

There's no reason why you can't do any of this golf or fitness.

With the lockdown moment.

And the inability to play golf.

Why don't you just pick the current date, where it says you're allowed to play golf.

Next, build a self-imposed deadline solely based around your ability to get your body in a more powerful state.

So when you start playing golf again.

You've got more power,

you've got more distance.

You can play 18 holes and feel like you haven't got to sit on the sofa all day long.

you're using an external imposed deadline, the lockdown golf, and a self-imposed deadline, to get better

So the next time you play golf everything's better.

Fact is, the time is gonna pass anyway.

the best way you can pass the time is focusing on getting better because we are happiest when they're making progress…

How.

Take out the notes on your phone, and type in a brainstorm list of ideas of what you could achieve between now and when you can officially play golf again.

Then off that list.

Pick one.

And do it today, and just see how you feel and see what happens.

What’s the story stopping glory

The oasis album “what’s the story morning glory” is 26 years old this year….

The story that it seems like yesterday is in my mind…

The story that it's a good album gets me listening to it again today..

Stories followed by actions which get results….

There comes a point though where the stories in our heads stop us taking action.

In some cases you know exactly what you need to do.

You know the exact steps you're going to need to take to get there.

You have everything laid out in front of you.

You have all the resources available, but you still don't take action.

And then you will start running through the reasons in your head why you don’t…

it's because of time or it's because of someone else

it's because of your wife or it's because of your kids,

but mainly the reason why you don't take action is because there is a story in your head about what that action means if you do.

If you didn't have something holding you back then you would do what’s required (as long as you are committed)..

It doesn’t mean the story is particularly bad, It could be something that stops you doing something you shouldn't really be doing yet as you are currently not prepared.

But at the same time, it could be based around an outcome of something that is completely false.

Taking the point of mindset around getting up in the morning, it’s based on the actions you need to do that day.

So, on a general day when you have to get up and leave the house to catch a train or beat the traffic, There's an urgency that sets out a plan in front of you.

that the outcome must be done, or there are consequences.

Take the same action when you're in something like lockdown, where you've still got to get up and there are still things to do.

But the consequences are slightly different.

You don't have to get in front of traffic or get the train and do the school run

So the skill sets that you need to get the results you want are irrelevant because there's a story in your head that stops you taking action based on, what you feel about the problems might come up.

So you might have all the knowledge in the world.

But without action you don’t move forward, and moving will eventually get you results.

how do you find these stories, simple:

You question them

What are the problems that will come up if I do take action, what could go wrong

Then ask yourself

What do I want?,

What are the benefits of me taking action?

If you want the results. You'll always do the work.

The best way to do that is to find the story and fix it.

I'll show you exactly how to do that in unbreakable golfers.

But it's all part of the fairway four system, which you can learn more on here

Golf integrity

On Wednesday. I was lucky enough to present to 53 of the best golfers in Kent, As part of the Kent Golf union.

In this, I was able to teach them and give them an introduction to my fairway four system and how, if in one part of the system you happen to be lacking then

You're out of golf integrity.

One of the great things I notice again and again, is that

regardless of age,

regardless of demographic

golfers just want to get better.

Everyone wants to know, what are the best exercises, for x y z but…

The real thing people should want to know is….

“What do I do next”

Right now with lockdowns and everything else all information is just flying at you like pigeons flying at the sticky bandits in Central Park…

Just focusing on what to do next gets you

going rather than searching for the best thing to do and,

DOING NOTHING

Knowing what to do next is not only what propels you forward but actually keeps you on path.

The more you stay on the path.

The more that you realise the further you go, the closer you're getting to the targets you have set yourself.

It all comes back to the first part of the fairway four system which is

figures, what are your current figures telling us about your habits, behaviors and addictions and then just base everything from that…

If you want to learn the fairway four system.
