Why Do We Bother

Sometimes I do think I should just go
get a job

Surely it must be easier

Defo easier for a mortgage that way,

Finished a days work and then works
actually finished

People seeing an invoice and them
thinking that goes straight in your
pocket

No dealing with corporation tax and the
chief James hunt

The Vat man,

But do you know why I think we stick it
out

We like being king of our own castle

The idea of building an empire

That’s in our control

That’s why when you make a change in
anything

It gives you that little buzz

You now have control over something new

Something to make progress in.

A target to concentrate on

Is It Your Turn To Give A F*Ck

Not sure if you’ve ever seen “the Wire”

But I was a huge fan

I would love to watch it again but

I know it would be a box set binge and i
think that’s about 50 hours of
television

And who’s got time for that?

When everyone wants everything done
before Xmas

There is a line in it when two
detectives are talking about a case

One says to the other when he starts
investigating a case he didn’t need to

“There you go giving a f*ck when it
ain’t your turn to give a f*ck”

The fact is there are only so many f*cks
you can give for

Brexit,

Who these people are in I’m a celebrity

And of course

Jose Mourinho’s face

If you spend all day worrying about
stuff

That you have absolutely no control over

There won’t be time to give a f*ck about
yourself,

And how can you get better, if you don’t
take time for you to focus on yourself


Time put aside for you to get better,

Time to be less stressed,

Get more rest,

There are only so many hours in the day

You must dedicate at least some time for
YOU

TO GET BETTER

This can be with nutrition,

Exercise,

Reading

Getter better at the game or even

Play the drums

(ahh man how cool Would that be,
starting the drums at 38. Imagine if you
had a bust up With the mrs and went and
made that racket)

Point being, try to give less of a f*ck
about the stuff that doesn’t effect you
directly

Or better yet you can’t control

And do more about how you can improve
directly,

Which is in your complete control

Lessons From The Chicken Man

Or Kentucky Fried chicken as I remember
it.

Got turned down for his recipe 1009
times

And no I didn’t make that up,

1009 times, at what point do you think
he thought

“F*ck it, I've been doing this since I
had black hair and could see without
glasses, might as well keep going”

Yet most people will try something once,

And if they ain’t perfect

Give up.

I’m not saying never give up just,

Do YOU not think it’s worth another go.

Another attempt to see if it’s any
better

Any easier,

If there’s any improvement.

And what if that so called failure was
based on a different version of YOU

Someone who hadn’t pulled off as much
YOU have now.

Someone who’s priorities were different
then,

Someone who hadn’t put in blood sweat
and graft into so many other things

Would there be a chance of a different
outcome

A different result

A different experience

Or is it just 1 go and I’m done

There’s nothing wrong with that But..

If it’s something you want

Or at-least believed you want, isn’t it
worth another go.

Who knows you might impress yourself.

You might be able to put in all the
progress you’ve learnt from being a dad
into dealing with it better.

Or it could be just one more thing to
think about

One more regret that things would have
been different

If only we had more time,

Money,

Energy,

Maybe things would be different

4PM Better Than 7PM

So I got in a bit earlier yesterday

and just beat the kids in from school,

So what I did was do my boys reading
book as soon as he was in

My daughter sat with us while my son
read his book cover to cover.

No "how many more pages" from him and no

"look at me daddy" from her.

We normally do this before bed time

It was the easiest reading we'd done
together

I didn't get frustrated with either of
them,

The thing is

Sh*t is so much easier when everyone is
NOT exhausted.

Sometimes We just need to rest

We get so focused on fitting so much in
that we forget that others might by just
knackered too

And all sh*t goes sideways if your tired

Your fuse is lit easier and its a short
as a lego mans arm.

But everyone else is like that too.

Thats why putting the impornt stuff off
like a tax return

The stuff you KNOW you need to get done

Putting that stuff off till last thing
or worst last thing at night

is when it will drive you to want to put
your fist through the fxcking screen

Try to do the important but not urgent
stuff before your exhausted

Or before it urgent

YOU will get more done and will feel
better after

With any type of training, nutrition, or
corrective stuff

If you were to do it in the morning

(when you don't feel like it)

Not only will it be out of the way it
will also make you feel better
