He's Been A Fan Since 38

A pal of mine is a Liverpool fan

Well I use the word fan but I’m Not sure
what he is

When we left school he was Millwall

Then his eldest son is a Chelsea fan so
he used to go a lot there,

And fell under the Chelsea banner

But apparently he always liked
Liverpool,

When he didn’t support anyone I would
see him the day after an Arsenal defeat

And He would give me serious stick

(When you've spent your whole weekend in
a car to watch you team get beat it
would mean I'd seriously lose my sh*t)

But I couldn’t say much back then as he
wore more colors than Robert Mugabe

About 4 years ago he finally came out of
the closet

Full kit w*nker style and declared him
self fully from the red side of Stanley
park.

I can’t fault his commitment NOW

He travels up there when he can,

Which is more than I do now BUT

I’ve served my time,

However, when the beers start flowing
the anti arsenal bias comes out and I
have to hold back the trump card

The one that says

“You’ve only been a fan 3 years”

Red mist

Winded,

hurt and angry

And that’s when it’s time to drop the
mike

Walk away,

Shows over.

But I try not to do that

I try to build confidence not crush it

But when they are 3 nil up at half time

And the what’s app group is keeping my
screen lit

With quotes from him like this belter

“We’re smash Chelsea at the weekend”

It’s nice when they melt and you can see
it coming a mile off

The banter has turned to no reply’s to
the boys goading him

Proper Mugabe media lock down

And the constant screen shot of his
previous banter

I didn’t get involved

But to say it wasn’t enjoyable would be
a lie

My point is no one gives a sh*t how you
start

It’s how you finish

What the results say

Is what matters,

In January there will be a lot of people
starting new stuff

In March the ones that are still,

Consistent,

Committed,

And focused are the guys that will get
results

Why does this even matter?

Most people live in the first 3

Doing stuff that’s doesn’t matter and
not urgent like being on Facebook at
work

And then have to stay late and miss the
kids going to bed because something
urgent has to be finished that same
night

Most urgent unimportant stuff is where
you end up fire fighting

For other people’s f*ck ups or you not
delegating correctly in the first place

Dealing with sh*t today you could have
done last week

But the power, and the ability to stay
in-front is to

Take care of the IMPORTANT Not URGENT
"yet" stuff

And this is the hardest part

Especially for us,

We can pull some serious sh*t out of the
fire when our backs against the wall,

But this just leads to burnout and a
feeling like your going to war whenever
the working day starts

Here’s how you fix it

Whenever you can put your own enforced
deadlines on this stuff prior to the
actual-

F*ck you deadline

And after a while you start to get
in-front

This way you can be a sniper by being
strategic.

Which reminds me, everything we do in
golf performance is strategic

We stay ahead of the curve which keeps
us in front of pain and disfunction

The Inevitable

So fella yesterday a wrote about stress

And how it leads to sedation

And how if you can learn to deal with
stress you can pull off a hell lot more

More in your business

More in your home life

More in your body

You see everybody will tell you to
remove stress from your life

But thats not always possible when your
trying to run a business

The fact is stress is INEVITABLE

So being able to deal with it better
will be much more valuable to you than
just reducing stress

I cant remember who said this but

Don't wish it were easier, wish you were
better

Love that ^ ^ ^ ^

We think that the ability to get better is
limited by

opportunity

But we currently live in a world were
the ability to learn everything and
anything is on the internet

Then why are most people not getting
better?

DISTRACTION

Everyone is so distracted that there is
no switching OFF

And you cant have focus if you're
constantly distracted

We use our phone as an alarm clock

The ONE thing that anyone in the world
can get in touch with us at anytime

Sits next to our heads and goes off to
wake us up

And because of that, the first thing we
see

Messages from other people

Lets be honest the only message worth
knowing as soon at you wake up is

"I owe you this blowjob"

So with that in mind

Find some way to stop the distraction,

At work go for a walk and dont take your
phone

The minions can handel things for 15
minuets

Black out your morning with no social
media until you get your head right

THIS STUFF WORKS

I do it every day and unplugging is
hugely helpful for getting better
dealing with stress

A Daily Discipline To Release Stress

Now don’t get scared

Try not to run away

Just hear me out

Last week I hit 365 conservative days of
meditation

This is non hippy meditation too fella

I’m pretty pleased with myself but
that’s not why I’m telling you

Well maybe just a little

Most guys go from stimulus to response

Something happens

Someone p*sses YOU off and BOOM

REACTION

It now has your full attention and guess
what

It messes with what you do and how you
do it

Which is why YOU look for sedation,

Be it booze,

Food or even

Drugs and porn

Meditation creates SPACE

Why do WE need space

It’s simple just listen to this quote

With space you have clarity, With clarity
you have confidence, With confidence you
have courage ,With courage you have the
ability to create more,

When you are overwhelmed with stress you
can’t think straight

When you’re stressed you make poor
decisions

Say and do stupid things in life,
business and golf,

How many times have you followed a bad
shot with a stupid shot

How many times have you eating shit that
you didn’t really want

By increasing your capacity you can deal
with MORE stress

It will increase you capacity to DO more

It’s literally like you have more hours
in the day

And running a business while being a dad

Feeling like you have more time is

5 Foot F*Cker

So had my next match at the weekend,

And it was a belter

Not a halved hole in the first 6

I had a 5 foot-ish down hill putt on the
17th halve the match

And made it

On the 18th

I had a 5 foot ish up hill putt not to
lose the match

And made it

On the 19th I had a 5 foot with a tiny
bit of break

And missed it

And with that lost the match

It was the easiest of the 3

I thought standing over the ball that I
should hit it straight

Went against that feeling and it didn’t
break

I was livid with myself

I could blame everything else but the
fact is I didn’t trust my instincts and

It cost me the match

And was probably the weakest putt hit
all day,

So how do we use this

Most people would say

Just practice more 5 foot ish putts

But that wasn’t the issue

I wasn’t chipping it close enough

If the chips had been closer I would
have won the match,

So that’s where my extra focus will be

Know your numbers

And

Trust your instincts

They say your body and your bank account
never lie

They can’t

They are measured by what you earn/spend

Or

What you eat/burn

Everything can be made that simple
