"That's A Bit Steep"

So dude on Thursday

got a chance to spend 20 minutes with
Pro James Skelton

And my swing was looking good but was
getting a little steep

I need my left wrist to be more bowed at
the top

Like Dusting Johnson

The thing is I've now been shown the way

But I have to work on it

It's not gonna stay that way without
putting the work in

And I now need to learn how to control
it from this new position

Or it won't change

That was probably my biggest pain point
when I worked at Wentworth

Some people would come in fresh from
injury and would do the work needed

Other people would come in and never do
the work

They would just book in again

From a business point of view I suppose
it was perfect

A certain amount of reddies guaranteed
every month

But that's not enjoyable

I like finding faults and fixing them

When I used to be on the tools I was the
guy that would go in when things were
f*cked

"This isn't working tell me why?"

And if I was to come back the next day
to do the same thing,

Not really what I'm after fella

If you wanna know why you do the things
you do in your golf swing

Why a certain part of the body is always
tight

Or

Always the first to go under stress

Then I can show you WHY

And I can give you a plan to fix it

But you will have to do some work away
from the clinic

No Idea

When I started my first company in 2006

AJM (Alex John and Mike) Electrical.

I had absolutely no idea what I was
doing

Dont get me wrong,from an install point
of view, we knew what we were doing

we had worked at multiple Canary Wharf
towers, Wembley stadium and The excel

And at that time we all had 10 years of
experience each.

But from a business point of view

Absolutely no clue,

Some people get to see a business run
from the inside,

What works, how to manage office staff
and paper work.

But for us, the only paper work we were
concerned with was;

Drawings

And paper with the queens head on it.

Made a bunch of mistakes,

Huge mistakes,

We got by with just graft and hustle,

We done ok but we could never GROW.

We had whats called at "Boxed" mindset.

"This is what I do and this is the way
I've always done it"

But if you can see a different way

You can GROW,

So when I started my next company,

TECC Group (Three Electrical Cxnts
Company) my abbreviation not the real
abbreviation

I made sure all the mistakes I'd made in
the first business

Didn't happen again.

I'd learnt my lesson.

However, the FEAR from the previous
mistakes again gave me a boxed midset
again.

"I cant do that it doesn't work"

The only way you can have a true growth
mindset is to learn from the mistakes

And TRY again.

FEAR is a killer for growth

Cos the Thought of the event is ALLWAYS
worse than the event.

Think of something you were dreading,

Had serious fear over and then you done
it

And it weren't that bad was it.

The brain can play tricks on the body
with FEAR

Sweaty hands, Butterflies But fella

And I'm not sure if you know this

It can do that for movement too,

It can FEAR a movement, a simple
movement and tighten up

And can stay that way for a long time.

YOU just needs to be shown that its not
that it doesn't work

It just isn't working right now.

I Fxckkked Up

So dude (and a lot of so called experts
wouldn't admit this but) I fxckked up,

Yep, you see my 90 day fitness goals,
that should end on 5th of November

Got completed on Saturday, 30 days early

So at training on Monday night, before
the GolfMob turned up

I was doing some KB snatches (you don't
need to know what they are)

The thing is I wasn't into it

I was distracted, thinking about other
stuff

I can't remember what, could have been
sex

and as I was placing the bell back down

Caught myself on the knee

Proper "you've been framed moment"

Yep met my friend PAIN

I'm limping about like a footballer who
plays for Mourinho

You see now I have 5 minutes to get this
clear before the boys turn up

And I'm limping about walking on hot
coals

Everything went through my head

"I'll say I done it at work" That was my
ego talking

I done some ART on it, stretched it, got
it moving.

And things weren't too bad and when the
boys turned up I forgot about it

The thing is it just shows you what a
lack of focus can do to you,

If I had a target, that would never have
happened,

And the thought about saying it happened
at work?

Would be a lie, a lie to myself as well
as others

A lie that popped in my head cos my EGO
was damaged

So here's a question,

What are you lying about,

Dude it's worse if you lie to yourself
cos you are the ONLY one that can do
anything about it

Is it that you can't get the help you
need?

You can't get better?

Your too old?

Are these lies to yourself?

And are they stopping you getting what
you want

If you wanna get some help from someone
that will tell you the truth

And not what you want to hear

PS it's much easier to say everything is
quality than to face the truth

Like what the others do

But how can we get better if where not
honest with ourselves

Been reading this book called brilliance

It's about a new type of human

They have certain hightend senses

One can read patterns in numbers

So he pretty much closed down the stock
exchange, but

The main character can read body
patterns

Basically it makes him a badass in a
fight

As he can tell how someone is gonna
throw a punch

By reading their expressions

And do you know what fella?

That's what I do

I can't tell by your face that your
gonna throw a right hook

(However I can tell when the Mrs is
about to throw a headbutt)

But when I check movement patterns

I watch the face as well

Why

Cos it tells me how much of a struggle
it is for YOU to do the movement

Think of it like this

If you have to hold your breath to do a
simple movement then you don't OWN that
movement

If you can't breathe comfortably in a
certain movement

Your body will not like to go there

It fears that movement
