Back Pain



Dude I've been there

Actually lived with back pain for years

From the age of 21 to roughly age 32

Back pain was a yearly thing

And anyone that's had it knows at best

its annoying and messes with your golf

And at worst its

lying on the floor scared to get up cos it is
gonna KILL.

Mine started when working at canary wharf
aged 21

I had to move a sheet of ply so I could get
my scissor lift through.

Not known to me, the wood was wet underneath
which acted like glue

Tried to lift it and BOOM

From then, it was on and off for years,

The thing is fella I refused to blame golf,
my golf swing or the amount that I played.

It was always my "work" that caused it.

Once I'd been through the TPI system it was
obvious that it was my golf.

My body wasn't built for the my swing.

Fixed my issues and my back is now stronger
than it has ever been.

The thing is dude I get it.

I've been there.

In pain, popping pain killers just to play
the game, having a "snap" hot pack in my golf
bag just in case.

The one thing that I hated through all those
years was anyone telling me that it needed
rest.

Rest from the golf course was not an option.

Thats why when you can to see me for

Launching Golf Balls At Passing Cars



Why do they bib when they pass the golf
course?

What is it about bibbing when they can't
actually see the golfers.

This is something you hear once in a while at
Wrotham Heath and it made me think of when I
was a member at Langley park

For some reason there was a big obsession
with bibbing when going past the golf course

It was contant,

There was one particular time late one
evening and I was trying to get in as many
holes as possible.

On the 10th hole, Tee,d the ball up and
before the shot

"BBIIIIIIIBBBBBB"

Now I probably shouldn't admit this

But with an adjusted aim I hammered the ball
at the car.

It had no chance of hitting anyone as the
10th has a fence with high trees and you need
a David Beckham free kich to get any where
close

And was more likely to hit Golfers on the
13th Green and 14th tee the other side of Red
Lodge Road.

Turned round to see some waiting on the 8th
tee

Just staring at me.

Not sure what he was thining but the story in
my head

Was that he weren't happy.

So I walked up to the 11th played that and
went home.

So the fellas that bibbed stopped me playing
golf

This is a victim attitude and one I refuse to
have any more

The fact is now stuff like this I just see as
a test

A test of being able to not be distracted by
stuff when playing golf

But more importanly not getting pissed off
and playing the victim

It's something We Refuse to have inside the
golf mob

No has a victim mindset

We have more of what you would call a Fucum
Mindset

Proper Hot

Proper Hot

Dude during the recent heat wave the mobsters
kept training

Actually I dont think any of the fellas
missed any sessions when it was HOT

When we're that hot we're obsessed with not
moving, air conditioning and fantasise about
the stuff we wish we were doing

Like playing golf, jumping in a pool or just
sitting in a bear garden with a cool freshly
poured pint.

But if YOU have a clear GOAL

You dont get to where you want to go by not
turing up when the weathers not right.

It reminds me of something that happened to a
pal of mine,

When joining the army whilst waiting to do
his fist 'assessment thing' for selection.

The instructor got a call and was heard
saying.

"Yes, we do still do it in the rain"

Not sure what the fella on the other line was
thinking but I imagine he didn't get selected

The fact that all the fellas showed up shows
commitment

Commitment to get better EVERY DAY regardless
of weather or doubt.

When they could've said they had to work late

Or the Mrs couldn't get a sitter

They turned up,

Stayed strong and reaped the results

It with comes a sense of achievement you cant
get from not doing what you said you would
do.

Thats the type of thing they learn in here

That you have to be better than yesterday and
when you are

It builds confidence

Dont get me wrong

Im pretty sure that we would all prefer the
right situation possible to do what we have
to do

But YOU cant always have it your own way.

YOU cant play golf and think that every shot
will be on a flat lie with a clear view at
the pin

If you wanna build confidence that is like
STONE

And step into a game where the results you
get are unmatched anywhere else

The Shit Zone


Last night at 9.30 I had a proper sugar
binge.

Wasn't hungry and its times like this when WE
know we're knackered.

Planed to work and catch up on some things
I'm currently behind on

but decided to rest.

Well I say rest but it was the shit zone.

You see fella we are always in 1 of 3 zones.

Creating

Resting

Or the shit zone

The shit zone is when you are neither
Creating (working, studying just getting better)

Or

Resting

So for me that was browsing netflix

One of the benefits of the binge was I
realized how smoked I am and just needed to
switch off for a night.

Remember

Rest is not a reward for hard work but a
prerequisite for exceptional performance

At some point you must rest regardless of
deadlines or commitments.

YOU can't serve anyone to the best of your
ability if YOU can't serve yourself.

In Mindset

Just taking 10 minutes away from the tasks
you have to do to get your head clear will
increase productivity in the long run.

For Training

If you worried about momentum and falling
into he drift do something that will shift
you and give you momentum.

I advise the fall matrix but it could be
anything that works for you.

Rest fella

The shit will still be there for you tomorrow

But your ability to deal with it will be
MUCH better.
