The Vally Of Despair

I've mentioned the PIT before fella

And I promise I will cover that soon

But today I want to talk about the valley of
dispair.

This is when you're ready to burn everything
to the ground.

When you're ready to give up

Throw in the towel..

Normally with thoughts or words of

It's too difficult,

It's too much work

There's too much to do

Or my old favorite

Things ain't that bad anyway.

You see there is something called the cycle
of change.

You set your goal, target or plan.

And you are full of motivation.

Anything seems possible and you are looking
forward too the challenge.

This is called uninformed optimism.

You're ready to go but you have no idea how
much work it will take.

Then you start to realize what it will take
to hit your goal.

There is more work than you realize and you
start to lose motivation.

This is called informed pessimism

Now things get tough. You feel overwhelmed,
tired and unmotivated.

The valley of despair

This is where you most likely give up

Why?

Because if you go back to the start

And start again

Set new goals

New targets.

You will feel good again

Motivated,

And have absolutely no idea how much work it
will take to hit your NEW goal.

Uninformed optimism.

However

Subconsciously you have just reinforced that..

You failed..

Again…

But what if when you were at at stage 2

Informed pessimism

You just kept going.

Regardless of hitting your goal or not.

Subconsciously, now you believe that you will
keep going.

No matter what.

To the finish.

Like a fxcking Warrior

Here's where the power is fella

Then the next time you set a goal.

You now know however tough it may be or
difficult to achieve

You KNOW you will keep going.

Till the end

And that my friend builds bad ass confidence.

Confidence and energy are your two
biggest allies.

In building ANYTHING.

John "valley" Seton

PS this is something we will work on inside
the GolfMob.

If you want in for the next intake (June) after
that its August before you can have

More confidence

More energy

More distance

You need to go here

https://golfmob.co.uk/application-form/

I have ONLY 1 spot left

Don't miss out.

To Do Sod All Lists

Right this is a simple story that im about to
fxck up.

Why am I about to fxck it up?

Because there are two similar stories and I
dont really care if its not correct

I just need you to GET the POINT.

Most people who will fill out a to do list
will write a big ass one.

One that involves everything in their head.

The most simplest things that you should do
anyway are put on this list.

The thing with this is it becomes an
overwhelming list.

Theres now to much to do

So you do the "easy" things first.

You continue to do the easy things and then
there isn't enough time,

Or MORE importantly ENERGY to do the big
stuff.

The stuff that would make a difference.

So it goes to the next day.

And the next.

And the next.

Warning the Pebble story john seton
bastardised version.

If you have a pint glass and fill it with
small pebbles the comes a point that you cant
get any big pebbles in.

If you put the bigger pebbles in first you
can get the smaller ones in after.

So your list for the day shouldn't be full of
small things.

In the MOB its the KEY goals and targets we
list, but ask yourself this question.

What is the ONE thing that I can do today to
move me closer to my GOAL.

If you do that the easy stuff will still be
easy and Guess what.

It builds confidence for the day.

Unmatched confidence.

You've just had a big WIN.

No Shxt.

John "Bastardised" Seton

PS If you build habits, that help you close
the gap to your goal EVERY day.

You will eventually get there.

There is currently only 2 spots available to
the Golfmob June

It starts on the 19th.

If you're ready to put your body into the
best condition for years.

Whilst smashing the golf ball further.

https://golfmob.co.uk/application-form/

Remember Only 2 spots left so if you can't
get in.

Apologies in advance

Cheers

It's Done

So Today Is the Day

The Day It happens

The day I STOP fxcking around.

After 60 days of my new 90 day sprint, I made
it.

On day 60 (Thursday 25th May) I finished
everything I had to do for my..

New Professionally Built website.

And It goes live today.

Why did I do this?

Simple

I wanted RESULTS.

The thing is there is only so much I can do.

I know my target audience cos it is/was me.

A golfing Dad who runs his own businesses,
wants them to grow but finding the right
balance.

Balance between work, family and FUN.

I mean selfish FUN too fella.

The type of selfishness that means when the
Mrs says pick a film for us to watch.

We come back with Rambo.

First blood of course, I wouldn't subject her
to Rambo 3.

But we spend so much time either working or
being there for our families that we forget
about ourselves.

Let ourselves go a bit, eat the wrong stuff.

Listen dude we know what we can and cant eat.

But WHY we eat it?

Thats a more important question and
its genrally a lot simpler than we want to
believe.

Anyway back to my website.

I had to have all the copy, photos, links etc
done by that day.

That was the deadline.

A deadline will send you into action better
than anything.

It will put you under pressure BUT it will
also get you to take ACTION

And stop the stories.

The stories of i'll do it when…

I haven't got time…

And the biggest one "I Will Be Criticised"

All assumptions based on absolutely no evidence.

You cant think you way into action, you have
to take action and put a deadline on it.

That way you can work out if you have WON or
not.

Pick a Goal and put a deadline on it.

I guarantee you will impress yourself

John "Deadline" Seton

PS Tomorrow I will tell you about Getting
more done in the day.

And while To Do lists don't work.

Until then, Heres a look at my new site

https://www.johnseton.com

If there is something you are putting off
due to fear of criticism.

You are basically saying peoples opinions
are more important than what you WANT

Fxck um

Cheers

Bad Shots From The Best

Happy Bank Holiday

I hope you are doing one of the following
today

As we've worked fxcking hard this week and us
dads deserve it.

1) Play golf and enjoy it.

2) Quality time with the family

3) Having a BBQ and EATING Meat.

Now I know you are not a vegetarian fella.

Cos your on this list.

And this list is for lions.

And lions dont eat stake flavoured vegetarian
stake.

What always surprises is if someone doesn't
want to eat meat

Why would they eat non meat that is made to
taste like meat.

Anyway EAT meat.

After reviewing recently the "Every shot
counts" seminar I went to,

It reminded me that what we think the best
golfers do and what they actually do

Are two completely different things.

The best hit bad shots too.

It ended up with me finding this video

Its the 2017 Valero Texas Open

https://youtu.be/Mr1kagk9E6Y

And the bad shots from it.

John "Shank" Seton

PS I will let you know when the next Every
Shot counts seminar as available.

It will help you not beat yourself up.

Especially on putting

Cheers
