The Torso Rotation Test

The Torso Rotation Test

This is the ability to Rotate your Upper body
independently of your lower body in golf
Posture.

3 outcomes we're looking for.

1) you can do it and think.

2) You can do it but your lower body moves (
there should be no movement in the lower
body)

3) You can't do it.

Number 2 or 3 and it's a fail.

You also won't do it in your golf swing
fella.

Does that matter?

Only if you want to start the backswing
without your lower body getting involved

Your golf pro will decide weather thats
important to you. 

But if you can't start your upper body on its
own this is what can happen.

Common carry over to the golf swing

1) Sway in the back swing

2) Slide in the downswing

3) Lose your posture during the swing

4) And you can move too close to the ball at
impact (early extension) 

OH . . . and of course

If you can't do this test you be may losing
distance

Confident?

Yesterday I mentioned my massive fxck up.

Getting injured

When the goal of Golf fitness is to be better
than yesterday,

WITHOUT injury.

And to let you know that this is probably the
email that will make you most think.

"yeah of course dickhead"

Confidence comes from confidence.

Example.

You're on the practice putting green.

Sinking putt after putt.

But you are not 100% confident yet because
it's "just the practice putting green"

Your real test will come when you are on the
course.

First hole you sink a 5 footer.

Second hole you lag a 20 footer to a tap in.

At what point do you feel confidence in your
putting.

How many holes 1,2 10.

But what if on the 9th you miss a 5 foot with
a lot of break after putting well on the
previous 8 holes.

On the 10th you now have a similar putt.

Question - are you confident?

What was you first thought.

Was it NO cos I've just missed a similar putt
recently meaning missed this type
of putt 100% of the time.

Or

Yes cos 90% of the holes I've putted on today
I've putted well.

Both of these answers are "stats wise" correct

However.

The difference is just perception.

And perception is just your interpretation to
the information.

And the way you do that is based on your
BELIEFS.

Ie "I am not a good putter" "I know my luck
will run out"

All the positive thinking the world will not
change you beliefs.

But continued success will.

Getting results will.

And changing your thoughts (more on this
another day)

Confidence comes from your previous WINS.

Track your wins EVERY day.

That way you will remember your 8 good ones
as aposed to the 1 bad one.

I Should Take My Own Advice

I was tired, hadn't eaten well for the two
previous days (it had been my birthday) and
didn't feel great.

I felt a little bit ill.

But my plan was to start the strong first
16kg Kettlebell snatch test.

My time was limited so my warm up wasn't
great.

Actually you couldn't call it a warm up.

My form was all wrong and as I cast the bell
out.

Boom, Pain, End of session.

Heres the thing, had I been training myself I
would have noticed things were not quite
right and regressed.

But my goal was to start that day to hit my
90 day goal that ends on 25th June.

Unfortunately for the sake of ONE day I will
now be a WEEK behind.

I could easily have made up that day

It will be very difficult to get close now.

I could play the victim.

I could piss and moan and blame;

The reasons why I was tired, Pressed for time
and not 100% concentrating.

The real thing is

I't was MY fault.

And i'm the only one that can do anything
about it.

Stage 1 Get treated

Stage 2 Make sure my rehab is on point.

Stage 3 LEARN THE LESSON.

The best advice you can take is the advice
you would give others.

Spursday

The football season is over.

And those of you that know me know that I am
an Arsenal supporter.

The Arsenal missed out on the champions
league places by 1 point.

They will now play euro games on what was
formally known as Spursday.

1 Point.

However as CLOSE as that sounds it is
actually

BULLSHIT.

The points difference missed out on was 18

18 Points between Arsenal and champions
Chelsea.

If Arsenal started the season with the aim to
finish 4th then it was close.

But the manager, the fans and the club's aim
was to BE BETTER than last season and Win the
league.

Its only over the season where we decided to
wade through shit in flip flops that the
GOALS changed.

And with it the justification.

"things aint so bad" got more points than
last year.

Fxck you. If you had shot 39 points in a
competition and one of the guys that have
been through my programe shot 40.

You had a very good day but you didn't win.

He did.

And you can call him a bandit but he goes
home, takes his boots and gun belt off its
him that will tell his Mrs and kids:

"I Won"

Dont get me wrong you must track your
improvements and track you wins however small
but.

Dont aim for 4th

Aim for 1st.

And get better every day.

Better at your business,

Better at golf,

Better at mindset.

1 More Hole

Without being pushed we will always seek
comfort.

To do the easiest posible thing.

Our bodies are built that way.

To conserve energy, to store fat, to be
efficient.

But our minds are not built that way.

Our minds strive for growth and improvement.

The modern man has access to instant
gratification of any topic he chooses.

Intant energy in sugary snacks, Instant
entertainment in youtube.

Instant porn in, sorry fella I am unaware of
any porn sites that exist.

However I do know they exist.

You can now even buy your own launch monitors
so you dont have to leave the house to play
golf.

We can get instant gratification in pretty
much anything.

So why are there so many fella's pissed off?

They can't all be arsenal fans.

Or maybe it's not the gratification that a
fella seeks.

Maybe it's the struggle that we really enjoy.

Why is it that when you are playing well you
are happy to play a few holes.

But if you are struggling you always want to
play one more or finish on a good one.

The fact is humans are happiest when they are
making progress PERIOD.

And Fellas are happiest when they are
competing,

Competing against others, their self, the
golf course

Whatever you do make it a game, keep score
and try to beat that score.

You will be happier if you beat that score.
