TPI Screen 90 / 90 Test



Today I'm gonna Show you the 90/90 test

This looks like John Wayne has told you to
"Stick em Up"

Three outcomes

1) You can rotate your arm past 90 degrees

2) You can rotate your arm to 90 degrees

3) You can't get to 90 degrees

We then test this in golf posture

If your elbow moves, (forward, back, up down)
you are cheating fella and you don't have the
rotation.

Causes of this can be

Shoulder Instability

Overdevelopment of the Internal Rotators (
Chest )

External Rotator Injury or Weakness ( Back)

It can cause the following in your golf swing

Loss of Posture,

lying Elbow,

Chicken Winging,

Early Extension

Been watching this Tv series for a while

Better call Saul

If you've not seen it its a spin off from
Breaking Bad.

Point is the main character who is a lawyer,
used to be a con artist.

And throughout the series he struggles to do
things the correct way.

The legal way,

And he uses a lot of his "con" techniques
whilst being a lawyer.

Its difficult for him to be different to how
he was before he become a lawyer.

I honestly couldn't do that now just the
thought of it sounds exhausting.

But you can now see why sometimes you get
pissed off when you drive the kids around all
weekend and then have to go to IKEA.

Bluecock Heavy

Took the kids to the "kids club" cinema in
Beckenham.

Best thing about this is they can pretty much
set fire to the place and you dont have to
get your cattle prod out.

The film "The Smurfs Lost Village"

Certainly not Game of Thrones but its for the
kids dude.

100 Boy smurfs a 1 Girl smurf.

Now I never knew this so its why im telling
you.

Smurfet is NOT their sister.

Which explains a whole lot.

Problem is I missed this very important bit
of information.

And my perception of the film was completely
different to my mrs who see the start of the
film.

Incest defiantly shouldn't be in a kids film,

So there I am thinking WTF

Cos I didn't have ALL the correct info.

How often does that happen fella?

You get the wrong end of the stick,

And you're about to rip someones head off,

And it turns out you got it wrong.

This happens in training, exercise and I
imagine in golf coaching too.

You take what you've been told and apply it
differently to how it was intended.

So you're working on the right thing

BUT

Not how it was intended.

And this my friend is not coaching.

You're brain is designed to get the task
DONE.

Regardless of form or the correct technique.

But when learning something new form and
correct technique is the most IMPORTANT part.

Swing Pot

Friday I got to play some golf for the first
time in 3 weeks.

The sun was shining, the course was empty.

The perfect golfing experience.

Then My swing went to pot.

Bastard, shit game.

It just wasn't working.

I have been working on a few swing changes
and the more I struggled I could feel myself

Drifting back to my older swing as thats what
we do right?

See an expert, get the info and then when
when its a little bit tough

Go back to the way it used to be.

The problem is..

I want to get better.

So I decided to listen to the expert.

And actually work on what he told me to do.

So after a few holes I walked off the course
and over to the practice ground and just
started working.

My goal was to play golf, but my goal changed

I could have done the easy thing and just go
back to my old swing.

Cos "things weren't that bad in the first
place"

But thats not how progress is made.

We can all stay the same.

But if you want to get better.

You have to put the time in.

Or you just become the perpetual goal setter.

Some times you just have to put the work in
and not worry about the result.

We get so caught up in our minds that we
forget about the process, we forget why we
started that goal.

In training we become so focused on what the
target is we forget that we need to just get
it done.

If you normally do 20 press-ups and today you
can only do 10.

Rather than be focused on the 10 you couldn't
do ask yourself.

How was the tenth press up? Did you give up
or did you give all you had and that was all
you could give.

If you cant do press ups.

Just do 1.

Then 2.

With progress you'll eventually get to 20.

With CONSISTENT progress every fxcking day
